Our Course
Upon meeting in college, we would
often visit a small pond in East Texas and
fish on the weekends. Through the years
of marriage and having two boys, a
common thought we often voiced was,
“I wish we had a lake like we had in
school”. We have lived in many beautiful s states, however we finally returned to East Texas and found our lake. For years it was a place where our sons learned to
fish and hunt. With an animal husbandry
background, my husband, Keith, purchased goats to control brush and forage. With the constant worming requirements, goats were no longer an option. After working in St. Croix and seeing these sheep on a hill side, he began researching this breed for as a potential livestock investment. In 2016. our first flock consisted of ten ewes. Each year we have increased our herd through the purchase of quality registered St Croix.
The Farm
Our 100 "acre wood" farm provides our sheep access to pastures, trees and natural wooded areas. This allows for planned pasture rotation.
